‘Superman’ Dwight Howard (37) threatened the National Basketball Association that he would play for Taiwan if they did not select him to represent the United States.
Howard recently wrote on his Instagram, “If you leave me out of the national team, I will play for Taiwan and score 85 points.”
In response, ‘Dinosaur Center’ Shaquille O’Neal shared Howard’s post on his Instagram story.
Howard most recently played for Taiwan’s Taiyuan Leopards after spending the 2021-2022 season with the Los Angeles Lakers.먹튀검증
Hawid even joked about getting LeBron James and Chris Paul to join him.
Hawid, a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, has a decent resume with the U.S. National Team. He was part of the ‘Riddim Team’ that won the gold medal by beating Spain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Howard averaged 10.9 points and 5.8 rebounds in the tournament.
It is absurd for Hawid to play for the Taiwanese national team. Taiwan does not have the qualifications to participate in the Paris Olympics.
Taiwan has qualified for Olympic men’s basketball only three times, the last time being in Melbourne in 1956.
Hawid’s ‘threats’ are ‘bluffs’. However, he appears to have mentioned Taiwan to strongly express his desire to play in the Olympics.
