Toronto Blue Jays starter Hyun-jin Ryu had a moment of fun after the series against the Texas Rangers.
Ryu watched batting practice before the third game of the series against Texas at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on Thursday.
He didn’t just watch. He helped the infielders by throwing balls to third base coach Luis Rivera and fielding coordinator Gil Kim.
At times, he even got a fungo bat from Rivera and tried his hand at hitting fungoes.카지노사이트
While watching the drills, I made my way to the third base dugout of the visiting team. That’s where I ran into some familiar faces.’
Marcus Simien, who played with Ryu in Toronto, beamed as soon as he saw him and gave him a hug.
He met and talked with not only Ryu, but also his former teammates, including Bo Bissett, Cavan Biggio, and Matt Chapman.
The day after a start is one of the few times Ryu is allowed to relax, as he’s been working his way through the starting rotation since his return. Ryu took advantage of it.
After allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with five strikeouts in six innings against Texas the day before, Ryu is on track to start against the Boston Red Sox on Aug. 18 if the current rotation holds.

Toronto will start Yusei Kikuchi on Sunday, with a lineup of George Springer (right field), Bo Bissett (designated hitter), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (first base), Davis Schneider (second base), Wee Merrifield (left field), Santiago Espinal (third base), Alejandro Kirk (catcher), Ernie Clement (shortstop) and Dalton Basho (center field).
Third baseman Matt Chapman, who has been sidelined with a finger injury, practiced normally for the second straight day. “We’ll see how he feels after today’s practice and decide what the next step is,” manager John Schneider said.
