At around 7 a.m. yesterday morning, a man hiding in an underground parking lot in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, approaches a woman.
He then brandished a weapon several times.
The suspect, Kim Mo-soo, commits the crime against his victim for reporting dating violence.
Ms. Kim drags the victim, who has fallen to the ground, to her car as bystanders watch.
When a witness asks, “What’s going on?”, Kim replies, “My girlfriend, who is pregnant, is injured and I’m going to the hospital”, and then deceives the witness by saying, “It’s faster to get to my car” when he offers to “call the police”.
The police were eventually called about three hours later by the building’s superintendent, who found blood in the parking lot.
But by the time Kim convinced the witness to call the police, the victim was still alive.
“I was even talking to the victim in the car,” Kim told police, “but when we went through the tollbooth, he suddenly stopped talking, and that’s when I knew he was dead.”
The victim was eventually found dead in Paju, near Kim’s residence, eight hours after the crime.
The police requested an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and time of death.
