On 4 April, the Seoul West District Court’s 11th Criminal Division sentenced A, who was charged with attempted quasi-rape, to two years in prison, suspended for three years스포츠토토, and ordered him to take 40 hours of sexual assault therapy classes.
According to the investigation, in February last year, A met with his friend B, whom he had known since high school, to do business together and drank alcohol, and B’s girlfriend C was also present.
They moved to a different location due to business restrictions caused by COVID-19 at the time and ended up sleeping in the same room.
After waking up to vomit, Mr A laid down next to Ms C and molested her, including putting his hands inside her clothes, and attempted to have sexual intercourse with her, thinking she was asleep. At the time, Ms C was reportedly unable to resist because she was afraid of Mr A’s behaviour.
The court said, “The crime is very bad in light of the relationship between A and C, the circumstances of the crime, and the boldness of the method. The crime caused B to suffer a great mental shock, and A’s friend must have felt an unspeakable sense of betrayal by A”.
However, “Mr. A has admitted to the crime and is remorseful, and has apologised to the victim several times since the investigation process,” and “considering that the victim has reached an amicable settlement with Mr. A and no longer wants him to be punished, and that he is a first-time offender with no criminal history,” the court ruled.
